Some tows can wait until morning. Others cannot. Emergency towing is for the situations where the vehicle is in a dangerous place, blocking traffic, or leaving you stranded somewhere you should not be waiting — and it is available every hour of every day across the south-east Colombo corridor.
When to treat it as an emergency
- The vehicle has stopped in a live traffic lane or on a bend
- You are on an unlit road at night
- You are blocking a junction, a bus route or an expressway approach
- You are alone, or with children or elderly passengers
- The vehicle is smoking, leaking fuel, or you can smell burning
- You have broken down somewhere you do not feel safe waiting
What we need from you
In an emergency, less is more. Send your location pin on WhatsApp, tell us the vehicle, and say what has happened in one line. We will dispatch and ask the rest while the truck is already moving. Do not spend five minutes writing a detailed message — the pin and the vehicle type are enough to start.
Stay out of the vehicle if the road is fast
The instinct is to stay in the car. On a fast road that is usually the wrong instinct. Get everyone out on the side away from the traffic, stand well back from the carriageway, and leave the hazard lights on. A vehicle can be replaced. Wait somewhere a following driver cannot hit you.
Night calls
A substantial share of our work is between ten at night and five in the morning, because that is when help is hardest to find and a breakdown feels worst. We are genuinely staffed around the clock rather than diverting to a voicemail. If your vehicle has stopped and it is dark, call — that is exactly what this service is for.
Blocking traffic
If your vehicle has stopped somewhere it is blocking a lane, a junction or a bus route, that changes how the job is handled. The first move is not always to load it — sometimes it is to get it clear of moving traffic first and load it properly a few metres away. That is safer for you, faster overall, and it stops a queue building behind you while the truck is being positioned. Tell us if you are blocking traffic when you call and we will treat it accordingly.
What not to do
Do not stand behind the vehicle to push it, particularly on a curve or a crest where following drivers cannot see you until late. Do not try to steer a vehicle with no engine running down a slope — the brakes and steering are far heavier without assistance than most drivers expect. And do not accept help from an operator who arrives unrequested and pressures you to let them take the vehicle somewhere; that happens, and it causes real problems afterwards with insurers and with getting your vehicle back.
Emergency coverage area
We run emergency towing across the south-east Colombo corridor twenty-four hours a day, based in Pannipitiya — Maharagama, Nugegoda, Kottawa, Homagama, Battaramulla, Malabe, Piliyandala, Dehiwala and everywhere between.
What decides the price
Towing is never one flat number. Here is exactly what we ask about, so you know what the quote is based on.
- Distance — How far we travel to reach you, and how far the vehicle then has to go.
- Vehicle type — A hatchback, an SUV, a van and a motorcycle are four different jobs with different equipment.
- Condition — Rolling on all four wheels is simple. Seized wheels, no gearbox or accident damage need a flatbed or a winch.
- Access and time — A clear main road at noon is not the same as a narrow lane, a basement car park or a ditch at 3am.
Tell us the vehicle, where it is and what happened. You get a clear price on the phone before a truck rolls, and you approve it before we start.
