An accident is the worst time to be making decisions, and the decisions made in the first thirty minutes affect what happens for weeks afterwards. Our accident recovery service covers the south-east Colombo corridor around the clock, and we handle collision-damaged vehicles the way they should be handled: on a flatbed, documented, and delivered where you choose.
First: people, then vehicles
If anyone is injured, that comes before everything else. Get everyone clear of the carriageway and call for medical help. Vehicles can wait; people cannot. Once everyone is safe, then think about the vehicle.
Before the vehicle is moved
- Photograph the scene from several angles, including the position of both vehicles
- Photograph all damage on your vehicle and the other before anything is shifted
- Note the other driver’s details and, if there are witnesses, theirs too
- Do not agree to have your vehicle taken somewhere you have not chosen
- Tell your insurer before the vehicle moves if your policy requires it
Why a flatbed matters after a collision
A damaged vehicle often has a compromised suspension, a bent wheel, or a body that no longer sits square. Towing it conventionally on its own wheels can turn a repairable panel into a structural problem, and it can make an assessor’s job considerably harder. We load collision-damaged vehicles onto a flatbed as standard, so the vehicle your repairer receives is in the condition the accident left it in and nothing more.
Insurance and assessors
We can deliver the vehicle to your own garage, to an assessor, or hold it until your insurer confirms where it should go. If you are unsure who to call first, call your insurer before you authorise a destination — moving a vehicle to the wrong place can complicate a claim unnecessarily.
If the vehicle is undriveable but not badly damaged
Not every accident produces a wreck. A great many of the vehicles we recover have relatively modest visible damage but something that makes driving unwise — a wheel knocked out of alignment, a radiator holed, a bonnet that will not latch, or a headlight gone on an unlit road. These are exactly the cases where people are most tempted to drive on, and where doing so most often turns a panel repair into something structural. If in doubt, do not drive it.
Recovering at night
A substantial share of accident calls come at night, when visibility is poor and following drivers are travelling faster. In those conditions the recovery itself is the dangerous part, not the collision that has already happened. We arrive with proper lighting and position the truck to shield the scene where the road allows it, because a second impact into a stationary recovery is a genuine risk on Sri Lankan roads.
Accident recovery coverage
Twenty-four hours a day across the south-east Colombo corridor — Maharagama, Nugegoda, Kottawa, Pannipitiya, Homagama, Battaramulla, Malabe, Kaduwela, Piliyandala, Dehiwala and the surrounding towns.
What decides the price
Towing is never one flat number. Here is exactly what we ask about, so you know what the quote is based on.
- Distance — How far we travel to reach you, and how far the vehicle then has to go.
- Vehicle type — A hatchback, an SUV, a van and a motorcycle are four different jobs with different equipment.
- Condition — Rolling on all four wheels is simple. Seized wheels, no gearbox or accident damage need a flatbed or a winch.
- Access and time — A clear main road at noon is not the same as a narrow lane, a basement car park or a ditch at 3am.
Tell us the vehicle, where it is and what happened. You get a clear price on the phone before a truck rolls, and you approve it before we start.
