Not everything that breaks down is a family car. Our vehicle towing service covers the larger and heavier end — vans, crew cabs, pickups, three-wheelers, taxis, delivery vehicles and light commercial vehicles — across Maharagama, Nugegoda, Kottawa, Malabe and the whole south-east corridor. Bigger vehicles need more capable equipment and more thought about access, and that is what this service exists for.
Vehicles we handle
- Vans and panel vans, loaded or empty
- Crew cabs, double cabs and pickups
- Larger SUVs and 4x4s
- Taxis and hired vehicles that need to keep working
- Light commercial and delivery vehicles
- Three-wheelers
What changes with a bigger vehicle
Weight is the obvious factor, but access is usually the harder one. A loaded van in a narrow lane, a pickup in a basement car park with a low ceiling, or a commercial vehicle wedged in a service yard all need the approach worked out before the truck arrives rather than after. Tell us what the vehicle is and where it is standing and we will send equipment that can actually reach and lift it.
Commercial downtime
If the vehicle earns money, every hour it is stationary costs you. We prioritise commercial calls accordingly and can move a vehicle straight to a workshop rather than to a holding yard, so repair starts sooner. If you run a small fleet in the corridor, it is worth saving our number before you need it — the calls that go fastest are the ones where we already know the vehicles.
Loaded vehicles
A van that breaks down with a load still in it raises a question worth answering early: does the load come off first? Sometimes it must, for weight or for safety. Sometimes it is faster and safer to move the whole thing. Tell us what is in the vehicle when you call and we will tell you which it is.
Getting the approach right first time
With larger vehicles, the single biggest cause of a slow recovery is sending the wrong truck. A van that needs a flatbed but is parked in a lane a flatbed cannot enter has to be extracted with a wheel-lift first and transferred, and knowing that before we set off saves an hour. So when you call, three details matter more than anything else: what the vehicle is, whether it rolls and steers, and what the road or car park it is standing in looks like. A photo on WhatsApp answers all three faster than a description.
Vehicles that cannot be put in neutral
Many larger automatics and some four-wheel-drive vehicles cannot be safely towed on their own wheels at all. Doing it anyway risks the transmission or the transfer case, and the repair bill dwarfs the difference between one truck and another. If you are not sure whether your vehicle can be towed conventionally, say so — we would far rather bring a flatbed unnecessarily than damage a drivetrain to save a few minutes.
Where we tow larger vehicles
Across the whole south-east Colombo corridor, twenty-four hours a day — Maharagama, Nugegoda, Kottawa, Malabe, Kaduwela, Athurugiriya, Battaramulla and the surrounding towns, and onward to anywhere in the country for long-distance moves.
What decides the price
Towing is never one flat number. Here is exactly what we ask about, so you know what the quote is based on.
- Distance — How far we travel to reach you, and how far the vehicle then has to go.
- Vehicle type — A hatchback, an SUV, a van and a motorcycle are four different jobs with different equipment.
- Condition — Rolling on all four wheels is simple. Seized wheels, no gearbox or accident damage need a flatbed or a winch.
- Access and time — A clear main road at noon is not the same as a narrow lane, a basement car park or a ditch at 3am.
Tell us the vehicle, where it is and what happened. You get a clear price on the phone before a truck rolls, and you approve it before we start.
